Modification Wish List

Future Plans for the GTU

Cosmetic additions

The priorities on this front are detailed in the Restoration page. These priorities would be the hood and ground effects.

Then come the bells and whistles.  I'm going to add headlight covers and I'll probably paint them body color given that headlights are useless with them on anyway.  I also want to tint the windows fairly dark.  Kansas law allows 30% all the way around (excluding front) I'll also have to have the spoiler and ground effects removed and repainted. They're all starting to discolor and/or flake.  The entire car will need a complete repaint sooner or later.

I might also add a Solar Wing II and some vent visors.  Some thing else I'll probably get in time is a LeBra (or similar) for long drives so I can avoid those annoying rock chips and bug matter accumulating on the front.

After I get all of that done, it should look damn good.  I will definitely upgrade the stereo and speakers.  I really like the look and sound of the Sony X-Plod systems.  I'm not looking for competition-level stuff, but I want something good.

Performance Goodies

For the most part, I've done all OEM on the parts I've been replacing. The only real exceptions to this are the catalytic converter (Dynomax Hi-Flow) and the tires (Daytona HR's). I probably won't do much else on this front until I'm done with school. But when I am ready, I'll be making a few "upgrades".

Two BIG things I want to do right are the intake and exhaust.  I'm already half-way there on the exhaust. I want to ditch the OEM muffler for a Dynomax Super Turbo. The intake is bone stock, and I know it's the main thing holding me back.  I do not know what I'm going to do for sure.  I've been told by several people in the know to avoid K&N.  I imagine I'll do a cone of some sort.  I'll have to do some research.

The suspension will get fresh parts also.  I'll probably get Eibach on the springs and the shocks/struts.  I may get the Eibach inch lowering kit, but considering the fact that I have the GTU ground effect package, I'm still up in the air about that one.
